A blurred face behind a mask
The frame is very grainy: it looks like it was shot on a webcam or recorded from a screen. At the center is a white Anonymous mask with dark moustache, goatee and eyebrows. Headphones are visible on the sides, with light hair or a light cap on top. The background is pale and shapeless, and dark clothing shows at the lower edge. The face under the mask cannot be made out, and there is no caption on the frame itself: the phrase “Oo, povezlo, povezlo” is usually added separately or laid over as sound.
Who is under the mask is irrelevant to the joke, and there is no need to name the person. The meme works as an audio fragment plus a recognisable picture.
The clip and the line
According to descriptions, the meme came from a TikTok video titled “Minecraft speedrun”, published on 28 December 2020. In it, a man in an Anonymous mask quickly plays Minecraft and repeats “oo, povezlo, povezlo” in an even voice. The video is considered a parody of real speedruns, in which players race through the game and often discuss lucky drops.
After that, the sound reportedly spread across TikTok, and in early February 2021 VKontakte communities picked it up; peak popularity came around the middle of February 2021. These are reference points, not a proven chronology: the actual spread may have been more complicated.
What the line expresses
The phrase expresses ironic joy: the luck is so great that it is hard to believe. It is laid over videos and images where someone has unexpectedly got something, and often over situations where the good luck is about to turn into trouble.
The comedy comes from the intonation: the words sound equally flat regardless of the event. So the same line can be inserted into a story about a win and into a story about a trivial bit of luck, and it will always sound slightly mocking.
Captions
The examples are invented for illustration.
“Ran two seconds late for the bus, and the bus was late too.” A short story with an unexpected coincidence, and the line puts the full stop.
“Found an old bill in my jacket. A minute later, found a hole in the pocket.” The caption combines joy and a catch.
“Submitted the assignment a minute before the deadline, and it turned out to be the wrong one.” Here the luck turns into a mistake.
“Picked the checkout line that was moving faster. Then people with three carts got in front of it.” An everyday version where the pause does the ironic work.
How to use it
The template works best for short stories with a sharp turn. The caption should first raise hope and then show the price of the luck; the frame itself serves as the punchline image. In video, a pause before the line strengthens the effect.
The blurred quality is part of its charm, so there is no need to improve it. The main thing is not to try to find out who is behind the mask, and not to link the image to a real person.
