The salesmen from “Madame Blueberry”
The three figures in the image are the Scallions, onion salesmen from the VeggieTales episode “Madame Blueberry.” In the story, Madame Blueberry is lonely and wealthy, and believes that new purchases will make her happier. The salesmen’s arrival is therefore more than a visit: they are about to persuade her that she needs products from the Stuff-Mart store.
The frame comes from the musical number “Stuff-Mart Suite.” The salesmen stand almost shoulder to shoulder and face forward like a small advertising team with its greeting ready. The line at the bottom turns their entrance into direct speech. The episode came out in 1998; later, the scene circulated on its own, first as a song excerpt and then as a macro built around one expressive still pose.
How the salesmen became unexpected guests
In January 2017, an excerpt from “Stuff-Mart Suite” was uploaded as a standalone video. That is the date of an available copy of the scene, not the meme’s beginning: by September 2018, the frame was already appearing in dated macros and social media posts. Early captions used the trio for situations where a small prompt is followed by a whole group with something to offer. The meaning shifted with the captions, while the trio arriving with a shared introduction stayed the same.
The image has two layers of context. VeggieTales viewers recognize a scene about salesmen and their persuasive musical presentation; viewers who have not seen the episode see three similarly minded characters addressing them together. In the story, they promote a new store; later versions can bring them in with any collective plan, from a group announcement to an unexpected bundle of services.
Why the collective “we” works
This is not one pushy speaker but a synchronized trio. A caption can assign each figure a role—for instance, different reminders, services, or departments that suddenly team up to get noticed. “Allow us to introduce ourselves” sounds polite, but the size of the entrance gives it comic force: before the viewer has had time to agree, an entire team is already standing there.
The meaning does not have to be unwanted visitors. The trio can also offer help, announce a new project, or arrive with shared news. The humor then comes from the mismatch: the occasion is small, but the presentation looks like a full stage entrance. A short caption is usually clearer than a long story because the greeting gesture already creates a pause before the pitch.
Invented captions
Invented example: “I just opened the delivery app” — “Subscriptions, insurance, and a loyalty program: allow us to introduce ourselves.” The salesmen become pop-up offers that appear after one ordinary action. The joke comes from the quiet beginning meeting a ready-made team with a presentation.
Another example: “Someone in the group chat asked who could help move one chair to another office” — “The people with a dolly, straps, and a floor plan are already here.” The trio represents helpers rather than an advertisement: one volunteer was requested, but an organized team shows up instead.
