Who Instasamka is

Darya Zoteeva was born in 2000. She started blogging on Instagram around 2017, first under the pseudonym “Prezidentsha” (the feminine form of “president”), and later switched to a deliberately hypersexualized, provocative image, taking the name “Instasamka.” The word plays on both the platform Instagram and “samka” (female animal), a slang term used in a colloquial, deliberately vulgar sense.

By 2019, when her name began to be widely discussed online, Zoteeva was about 19 years old, meaning she was already an adult.

The 2019 scandals

Instasamka’s sharp rise in fame in 2019 was tied to a series of loud and controversial posts and statements on social media: openly provocative content meant to draw a strong reaction from the audience. The strategy worked. The blogger was talked about well beyond her original follower base, and her name started appearing in roundups of the “scandalous bloggers of the year.”
