The video premiere and early remake
The video for “I Love It” with Kanye West, Lil Pump and comedy actress Adele Givens was first shown at the Pornhub Awards ceremony on September 6, 2018, and the official clip appeared the following day. The video was directed by West and Amanda Adelson; Spike Jonze was executive producer. In large rectangular suits the artists walk down a long corridor, and the staging makes their silhouettes unusually angular.
The next day Josh Ling, known as @tactful, published a remake in which he matched the video with Roblox. This early response immediately gave the resemblance a concrete gaming image. In the following days the comparison spread through music and gaming communities; associations with Minecraft and with clothes bought a size too big were added.
What is visible in this frame
In front is Lil Pump in a pink-brown suit with massive shoulders and a large chain; behind him is West in an almost identical dark suit. The elongated corridor and light strips emphasize the difference between the artists’ compact figures and the square bodies of their clothes. There is no pixel graphics here: the resemblance to a game comes from the proportions of real suits. Pale vertical figures in the side niches add a sense of scale; against them the unusual width of the suits looks even more noticeable.
In the moving video the huge figures walk down the corridor; in a still frame the gait disappears, but the proportions of the suits remain and support the comparison with an avatar. It is this preserved shape that makes the original frame convenient for various gaming and everyday associations, even when the sound and music are no longer heard.
How the gaming contrast arose
The Roblox comparison is literal: the early author did not just caption the frame, he made a game version based on it. Later memes used the shape of the suits themselves: some turned it into a joke about size, others into an image of an object or plan that has grown beyond measure. So the gaming and everyday variants do not replace each other; the first explains the geometry, the second carries it over into daily life. In the Roblox version the resemblance became an edit, with the artists replaced by game characters. The Minecraft comparison often does without such a rework and rests on the body shape. The original frame is recognized by the corridor and the suits even when no game background is nearby.
Invented captions
Invented caption: “I was going to take a light bag on the trip, but packed chargers ‘just in case’ for the whole family.” The bulky silhouette turns extra luggage into an almost physical suit.
Invented caption: “When I bought a loose-cut jacket and picked a size ‘tent for two.’” Here the comparison with clothes bought a size too big literally matches the volume of the suits in the frame.
Invented caption: “Meeting agenda: discuss one button. An hour later: five working groups, three spreadsheets and a separate committee.” The massive shoulders become an image of a process that has grown larger than the original task.
