A boat wedding and a scuffle

The rapper Morgenshtern held his wedding on August 31, 2021 in Moscow, on a river boat moored by the embankment not far from Moscow City. The celebration was hosted by Ksenia Sobchak. According to Meduza, before the ceremony the bloggers Eldar Dzharakhov and Dilan exchanged blows, after which they were separated.

Dzharakhov himself told the outlet Life three years later, in October 2024, that the meme came out of the wedding: he asked the correspondent to delete the footage of the fight and kept repeating “Delete it in front of me.” The details of the scuffle are not needed for the joke: the meme rests on the request itself and its tone, not on who did what to whom.

The date of the incident, August 31, 2021, is known from the report on the wedding. When exactly the clip became a meme cannot be stated for certain: judging by the upload date of one early TikTok video with this phrase, by September 6, 2021 it was already circulating online.

What stayed in the memes

The meme lives on two layers. The first is the request itself, insistent and slightly threatening. The second is the tone of someone who has already understood everything but wants to make sure no trace is left. Such a scene is easy to recognize: someone does something awkward, and another demands that the evidence be erased.
